Innovation Fund
Providing Employees with the Resources to Ensure Their Success
Each year, the Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) Educational Foundation Inc. sponsors the Innovation Fund Program for all employees. The purpose of the program is to provide funding for employees to conduct projects during a one-year period. LFCC employees may develop projects on any topic that will benefit their academic program, division or the College. Projects may be conducted by individuals or small groups.
In the past, funds have been used to support initiatives including:
-
The development of a Web-based course called SDV 101: Orientation to Education, which allows LFCC students pursuing a degree in education to learn about the personal characteristics required for their degree program
“This provides access to students of all ages to get a start on their degree in Education. I would encourage everyone to submit a proposal.”
~ Brenda Byard, director of high school outreach - To host renowned stone carver and sculptor, Malcom Harlow, for a two week session

“It was an outstanding experience for all who took the class and it would not have been possible without financial help from the Foundation.”
~ Ann Currie, associate professor - To provide students enrolled in two of the Introduction to Computer Applications and Concepts courses at the Middletown and Fauquier Campuses to take three certification exams
“This allowed some students not only to get college credit for the course, but to additionally earn a professionally recognized certification before graduation.”
~ Melissa Stange, adjunct instructor
