Tammy LaDrew, LFCC’s coordinator for retention and assessment, was walking to her office when she saw Marjorie Hawkins, an LFCC student in her 40s, crying in the hallway. “I asked her what was wrong,” Tammy recalled. “She replied, ‘I received my financial aid, and I can go back to school!’ She told me that she was in a bad accident and was unable to attend college for many years because of it. It was very touching and very moving to see a student so thankful.”
