Employee Reality Check: Giving Makes a Difference at LFCC

The Donor Difference Changes Our Lives

Support from generous donors to the Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) Educational Foundation Inc. has helped to fund a variety of the College's critical initiatives, including:

  • Construction of the employee lounge at the Middletown Campus
  • Salaries for eight LFCC employees
  • SimMan monitor, which provides LFCC nursing students with the opportunity to participate in simulation training
  • Upgrades to the William H. McCoy Special Events Center, located inside the Alson H. Smith Jr. Technology Center
  • Upgrades to the adjunct faculty office at the Fauquier Campus

You—The Employee—Can Make a Difference

Although you may be amazed by the variety of projects the Foundation has funded, what is even more surprising is that only 13 percent of LFCC employees contributed to the Foundation this year.

The Foundation generates support for the College's critical initiatives beyond those provided by the Commonwealth of Virginia, which provided only 50 percent of the College's operating budget in 2006-07.

If each LFCC employee contributed just $1 per pay period, the Foundation would be able to provide professional development materials to supplement on-site professional development training for LFCC employees and three student scholarships. If each employee elected not to purchase coffee for one week and donated those funds to the Foundation, the Foundation could purchase books for students enrolled in developmental reading classes at LFCC and adult, child and infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation manikins for LFCC's Emergency Medical Technician Programs.

It's Easy, Automated and Inexpensive—Only $1 Per Pay Period

Contributing to the Foundation via payroll deduction is an easy and convenient way to help employees and students. Please make a contribution to the Foundation of at least $1 per pay period. This would only amount to $26 annually:

  • $1 per pay period x 26 pay periods = $26
  • $2 per pay period x 26 pay periods = $52
  • $3 per pay period x 26 pay periods = $78
  • $4 per pay period x 26 pay periods = $104
  • $5 per pay period x 26 pay periods = $130

For your convenience, contribution forms are located at the Contribution Forms Web page. To contribute via payroll deduction, please mark the box "I would like to contribute via payroll deduction" on the Payment Options section of the contribution form and complete the accompanying information.
Thank you!
